2025 Rockton ARBA Show
Here is one thing angoras love to do. Tease us with an amazing coat, and then moult it out right before a show. I had very high hopes for our off season English baby Electric Hero, but in his defense, he was an off season baby. Some times we time our breedings to have competitive aged animals ready for a show, and sometimes we just get breedings done to progress our multigenerational plans. Hero was too young to show last fall but over the winter months he grew into a stunning Sr buck. Unfortunately our local clubs don't host winter shows. By May, Hero was 11mo old, had already lost what would have been his show coat, and was going through the tail end of his seasonal spring moult, blowing what ever wool was left.
Our Jr Black buck Paxton did very well though. He beat out his sisters and the other colored girls to get BOV in 2 of the shows, and BSV in the 3rd. He even got confused for being a girl in one of the shows because he grows such a beautiful girl like coat. BOB for all shows went to our stunning white girls, Electric Narnia and Electric Mamba.
Our old boy Satin Angora, Electric Robocop was back on the tables after showing last year. Despite of missing some of his coat (that damn spring moult!) he wowed all of the judges with his type, sheen, and texture. Judge Daniel said he would have easily won Best of Breed at the West Coast Classic show he just came from. We do love our pretty boy. Daniel picked him for BOV over the colored girls and Robo finally managed to win another leg. Yayy! Robo's beautiful young daughter Electric Tinsel aka my Golden Child, took BOV and BOB under judge Tom and her cousin Electric Victory took BOV under judge John. Victory's beautiful REW sister Vanilla took BOB in the other two shows. Vanilla was another one to get a few wows and some great feedback from all the judges. This girl's got junk in the trunk! She even got used as a model to demonstrate to another exhibitor what a well developed hind end should feel like. Very proud of this girl and excited to see how she turns out.
