2022 ARBA Show at Spencerville

This weekend we travelled to the little town of Spencerville located near Ottawa for a triple ARBA show. This was such a fun show for so many reasons. Amy Jones, a fellow EA breeder who I bought my first ever Angora from came out to show for the first time with a few of her young babies. We had a lot of fun talking about the little ones who were all out of the same dad as my BonBon girl. I also finally got to meet Josee Maher from Quebec who I got the beautiful Maurice from. Julie Martin was also there, although not showing any EAs, and so was Livia Delattre from Quebec who's stunning Tort doe took home the Best In Show award for all 3 shows at Komoka last year. Livia brought a beautiful colored Jr doe to show. There were many wonderful conversations about our rabbits and lots of great advice kindly shared by Julie and Josee.

I travelled to the show with 5 contenders:
Electric Wario, 9mo old black buck
Electric General, 6mo old black buck
BerMah Maurice (bred by Josee), REW buck a hair shy of 6mo
Electric Iroc, REW buck who just turned 5mo old
Electric K9, REW doe who was only 15wks old

All together, we had a total of 13 English Angoras and 4 exhibitors competing:
2 Sr colored bucks (Electric Wario and Electric General)
1 Sr colored doe (BerhMah MiewMiew)
2 Jr colored bucks
3 Jr colored does
3 Jr white bucks (including BerMah Maurice and Electric Iroc)
2 Jr white does (Maurice's sister MyMy and Electric K9)

All the white Juniors out and ready to start

By the end of the day, Wario had earned 2 new legs which combined with the 2 he earned as a Jr means he now qualifies to receive a Grand Champion title! 🏆🥂 WOOOHOOO WARIO!

Maurice's beautiful sister went on to win a Best in Show and a Reserve in Show!

Maurice's sister, BerhMah MyMy taking BIS and RIS for shows A and B

The stunning Miss Miew Miew, BOB for show C

It was a busy day full of hustling around, grooming, and socializing, however quite possibly the most exciting part of the day for me came at the end of the show. That was when I got to pick up Miss Miew Miew and put her in my car to travel home with us! Yes, this stunning creature is now a part of our Angora family. I am over the moon thrilled to be blessed with this honor and privilege. I can't thank Josee enough for entrusting her with me.

In all of the excitement of the day, it didn't even occur to me to take pics of my own rabbits on the pretty show photo stand. So instead, I took some pics of the crew after we got home. General went on to his new home after the show, so no picture of him.
